Reflection of 242

So far English 1s/242a has been full of hardships and leisure. At times this class can be difficult but it follows that up with relaxing assignments that are fun to do. Keeping up with this class has been pretty easy, doing the assignments that are assigned and reading what we are suppose to read is helpful and can help you a ton in this class. So far I have been keeping up with everything that’s assigned except for one missing assignment that I turned in late.
The difficulty of the reading is this class is easy. The books such as The Glass Castle feel like they are directed towards young adults, just like us. The book doesn’t try to confuse you with crazy hard words but instead they intend stir up a compelling story so we would be interested into reading more. Writing difficulties wise, this class is quite difficult. This class requires you to write to be good at summarizing what you read. Although I can summarize and understand what I read, I cannot but what on my brain onto the paper. I feel that there is so much to understand that writing everything down is pointless, but that’s just my opinion. I was never good at putting what’s on my mind and putting it on a paper, so writing summaries are quite difficult. A life difficulty is definitely finding time to read. Usually I work 40 hours a week all closing shifts so find time to read especially when my brain wants to go sleep right after work is extremely difficult.
Over the next week I hope I can continue keeping up with the reading and writing and hopefully completely comprehend the book so when it comes time to do the essay I will be fully prepared to accomplish it.

  1. A lot of your writing pieces are extremely interesting. They suck me in as a reader and keep me grasped until the very end. I believe that's the strongest thing in your blog-- how in-depth your writing gets. I enjoyed this the most, and what I would do is to organize them (if you are able to) to make it simple to find. I like the overall structure of your blog and the writings the best. Keep it up.

  2. Yes! This class has absolutely posed its challenges. I find myself stuck in front of a computer screen at 7 a.m. before class trying to complete the work. I can totally relate because I work crazy long hours all week, get off really late at night, and then have to take the 30 minute drive back to San Jose. Although it can be tough at times, I really feel it will only help us grow as individuals as well as ideal college students. It will definetley set us up for our future!
